iWave export

For those who have used the bulk export between iWave and Tessitura. Did you pull both A1 and A2 from the household or did you choose one. If the latter, how did you decide which one?

Thank you,

  • Hi Nancy,

The lists I export in bulk from Tessitura to submit to iWave contain both the A1 and A2 of each household in question. My organization primarily uses households, when applicable, for contribution processing, memberships, and season tickets, so the lists I create to export for iWave scoring are usually based on household (though in this case are set up to not replace individuals with households, so that both individuals affiliated with the household pull in the list). I have found that scoring both household members casts a wider net, as the information available through iWave for any given individual can sometimes be variable, or even not what is expected if you happen to have existing knowledge of someone you are trying to score.

We have been navigating some challenges with the Tessitura/iWave integration ourselves, so I hope this helps!

  • Hi Amy,

Are you not using the iWave Bulk Export utility that comes with the integration then?  When I use that, even when my list contains households, I only get one person's first and last name and an address.  If you're not using the utility, would you be willing to share what output set elements you include in the file you send to iWave?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Anne,

I'm sorry that this is so delayed! I went back and double checked my process that I described to Nancy.

I am using the iWave Bulk Export utility. The list criteria I am using for the list that gets plugged into the Export utility is as follows, in this particular example: Membership Current Level (in a range of several levels) and Constituent Type (Individual and Household). For both criteria, I have "Search Household" checked. At the bottom, I have the radio button "Leave the individual constituents as selected by the list criteria" selected. This list, once I've exported it using the iWave Bulk Export utility does turn out both individual branches of each account that is a household, from what I am able to tell by sorting the exported list by last name. I'm wondering if your result has something to do with A1/A2 settings? Does your organization typically have both assigned to any given household?
