Entering In-Kind Donations into Tess

Hi there!

My organization just wrapped up our annual gala, and we received a number of in-kind donations. I have two questions-- Do your organizations track in-kind donations through Tessitura? If so, how do you go about doing that?

Any assistance would be appreciated!

It can be done in Tessitura – usually by creating a Payment Method of In-Kind. I’ve been at sites that also create a specific Fund Code and Campaign to keep them out of the Cash totals.

The most important thing is to coordinate with your Finance Dept.

We have separate campaigns by fiscal year for in kind contributions, it's been working well for us. Definitely coordinate with your Finance team so they have what they need for audit purposes.

We have a fund-campaign-appeal for in-kind and in-kind budget relieving. These are set up every fiscal year.

For our gala we create a source code in our gala campaign, and all in-kind gifts for gala go that source code and roll up into the gala fund and campaign.
