Implementing recurring giving

Hi everyone, 

We're hoping to set up a system of recurring gifts that could be done automatically so we could offer the option widely through our website. Who is using recurring giving? What software or services are you using, and what have your experiences been thus far?

    Hi Stephanie,

    We have a couple systems in place @ Seattle Symphony. For people who give on our website, our processor is Stripe which handles the monthly gift on the same date each month. We import those donations as individual gifts each month (but designated to distinguish that they are monthly gifts), so the only manual aspect is to ensure their benefits = the amount of 12 months of giving for their first year.

    For people who gave us their CC # directly, we book a pledge for the duration of the current fiscal year, and then do a rollover of pledges at the start of the next fiscal year. I've opted for this so that there is one big rollover each year, and because people have pledged a monthly amount that's open-ended - not twelve months of giving.
