We're in the process of moving to v14 and wondered how other organizations have addressed Attachments. The documents screen is disabled and will be restored in v15. Have you standardized a process for using Plans? We're looking for suggestions. Thank you!
We have been using Plans for quite sometime for our documents. We lost the use of Research documents with an Adobe update. We created a non-cash/fund campaign named Documents and we mass created this plan under all donors records using plans management. The campaign is given a special type to help separate it from fund raising and ticket campaigns. The plan has no start or end date so it shows up at the top of the Plans tab page. We created a Plan Type named Document and a status of 0-Documents (so it shows up on top), a plan source and Priority named Document. Then we created step types beginning with the letters DOC- for each different type of document that might be attached. This works so well we like it better than Research documents.

I remember those days. The Documents tab has always been a troublesome beast, and I'm glad the network is fixing it (hopefully) once and for all, though I wish it didn't have to be read-only for the life of a whole major version.

Interesting ideas. Passing along to our Devo folks...
Agreed, very interesting. I'm passing it along as well.
Another food for thought is we also created a Training non-cash/fund campaign and use plans for tracking staff training. Its a great place to record what training was given, when it was complete and attache training documents which were used.
Mark!
Is OptiView in any way integrated with Tessitura? Are you still happy with it?
