The Corporate Partnerships staff in the Development team at the ACO are looking at the best ways to track Sponsorship Contra/In-kind amounts (without the use of spreadsheets!) which can be used as a tally as the set amounts are used.
Some examples of what they would like to track are:
1. Free of charge room nights from accommodation partners - to be deducted as staff members stay at hotels while on tour (these aren't necessarily a dollar amount, rather a defined number of complimentary room nights over the duration of one year in the sponsorship agreement term). It might be good to be able to put a base value on these FOC room nights, should the partnership end, we have a way of working out our 'hard costs' if we had to pay for these charges out of our budget.
2. An amount of money to be used in the agreement term from a food & beverage partner - ideally, we'd like a way to track which restaurant/venue the amounts were used in and on what dates.
3. Media spend - complimentary advertising in particular publications at certain times during the year.
At the moment we are not tracking Sponsorship financials in Tess (though there are plans to...), only Philanthropic donations.
Could anyone recommend a clean and easy way to do this in Tess, or a link to something on the TN site I could research further?

Hi SallyWe had an overhaul of our Development set up and processing and have introduced some major changes since mid 2016. The final part of this was to start tracking/entering all Corporate Partnership / Sponsorship monies including sponsor ship servicing, in kind and contra. I worked closely with the Development and Finance departments to ensure everyone was happy with the new Campaign/Fund/Designation/ set up, GLs and payment type set up and changes.
