Soft-crediting Elevated Event gifts

Is it possible to add soft credits to Elevated Event gifts, the same way that one can add them for a foundation gift or a gift in honor / memory of a third party?

I'm specifically curious about what would be the best way to show that two different patrons have paid for an event reservation, or that an individual has paid for an event gift (for example, at an auction) on behalf of another patron.

Interested in any and all ideas!

  • Hi Max,

You can do soft credits to Elevated Event Contributions, yes. One way I've handled two people paying for an event is this:

    -Contributions live on separate accounts

-Event reservation gets triggered on both accounts

-On one, I use a event reservation status of "Paid (hosted)" and the other as "Attending"

-the Attending reservation becomes my main reservation, and in the guest portion I link the other two guests which shows up in the Events tab of their account

-when I run reservation reports, I only run on Attending; also good idea to add notes on the Attending reservation about the split
