I am looking for anyone who has created a custom report which would list constituents and their total gifts & pledges including, soft credits, pledges (whether just pledged or pledged and received) and matching gifts. I am not sure if this is even possible so I am wondering if others have been given this same task and have come up with a solution. I would love feed back from anyone who has attempted this. Before you create something new, have you tried the Current Constituent Giving by List in the Development Reports folder?
If that doesn't work for you it is certainly possible to create a custom report to do what you need but before you do I suggest you check through the shared reports available at tessituranetwork.com, there may already be something there that will fit your needs.

It is definitely possible to report on total giving including things you list, even soft credits. A nice view that includes contributions by customer_no and SC's by creditee_no as "customer_no" (if that makes sense) is recommended to simplify your life re: reporting. I can elaborate further and/or send suggested code if you'd like.
Thank you Dale. Although the Constituent Giving by List gives me most of what I need. I also need the soft credits to show as donation under the constituent who recieved the soft credit. I know this is unusual because they did not write the check but I need this in order to come up with levels when combining all our consortium memberships. Another words we are looking to combine all donations from all the member groups in the consortium and applying one member level from this total. Because we count soft credits towards membership levels I need to include soft credits for the consituents total giving on the report.
I will gladly accept any code you want to send my way.

I wonder if you should alter some of your data entry procedures as well to make it easier for you to see total giving.
If you have gifts from other sources that apply to people’s memberships, perhaps you should enter those gifts as Gift Memberships rather than soft credits? That way you can use the membership reports to look at their total giving.
Also, I don’t know if you’re using solicitations, but we use the Recorded Amount field to enter contributions + matching gifts + gift memberships, so that we can look at total giving via all solicitation reports.
