Hi everyone,
We had our Gala last month. We use Greater Giving for the vast majority of it (bids, tickets, etc) and I was just wondering what ways you all reconcile the two. I've poked around the forum a bit on this but we have our Devo retreat in just under two weeks and just wanted to see what everyone else who uses it does. We end up re-entering everything in Tessitura in the days after the event, which is a pain, but seems to be the most accurate way of recording info.
Thanks!
We use the elevated events functionality in Tessitura. We’ve looked into using outside tools like Greater Giving but because we are on a university campus there are some additional hoops to jump through, as well as the fact that we would still have to transfer everything over, and we just didn’t have the manpower to get it all done that way at the time. I’d also love to know if others have more streamlined ways to do it.
Using the entitlements functionality has worked great for everything except pre-registering credit cards at the gala . . . we have to have multiple staff on computers manually looking up everyone who wants to pre-register and then manually enter the credit card number, as well as then keep track of which card they registered if there are multiple cards in their record.

Hi Michael,
We use 501Auctions, but I’m sure the process would be similar. Funds are received through 501 during and/or right after event, then Finance and the event team do a reconciliation, then we use the Contribution Import Utility (Finance Folder) to mass upload everything into Tessitura. I needed help from our IT dept to set it up and I’ve only used it once myself, so far. It was amazing though! We plan to use it going forward for events, donations on account, etc…

I should also mention that there is a session on Data Conversion and Import Tools at the TLCC conference this year. It’s on August 14, Monday at 1:30.
