Hey folks,
This is to all you folks who use the mass solicitation function in Campaigns > Solicitations.
Ever since we upgraded here at The Public, I can't get the constituents to sort after I've added my list. When I click constituents, all of the names move, but not into a discernible by order. The names are sorted by Constituent ID in chunks (like 20 names in a row will be ascending by ID and then the next group of 10 will start over and sort again), but that's not all that useful since the IDs aren't even visible on the screen.
Can anyone tell me where I should look to repair this wacky l'il bug?
Thanks all,
Rey

Hey Rey -
I'd open up a help ticket for this. If the software isn't behaving as it should be, it's time for the experts!

Thanks, Heather and Bob.
Bob – is there a logic to how it’s sorting that I’ve been unable to discern? We build renewal solicitations en masse at the end of every month for the future fiscal years, based on people’s contributions in the previous month. Even though we only build solicitations for donors that give of a high enough level to receive Partner memberships, in a month like December (when everyone’s doing year end gifts) I have 200+ solicitations to tweak and then populate.
I’m wondering if I can sort the constituents on my gift report in such a way that mimics the way the solicitations are being sorted in Campaigns. Is that possible? Or is there no actual logic?

Heather, thank you for replying to Rey. This Solicitation sorting problem is rooted in the client files in all current versions of v9x, and has been addressed by Development in v10. It is unknown at this time whether another patch for v9 will be released, but if so this problem will be corrected there. As this is a client file problem and not an issue with a stored procedure, we will not be able to supply a hot fix for this now but I wanted everyone to know this is a known issue that will be resolved in v10 for certain and in the next v9 patch should there be one.
Bob
