Marking Membership Discounts

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for cross posting, but we’re looking for some help/ideas on how we might approach the following:

We offer a 25% off discount on our dual and household memberships if you are an employee of one of a number of corporations in the area. We would like to track which corporations seem to be using this discount the most (without making a membership level for each of the businesses that participate). We are also wondering if there is a way to make this discount available online in we’re not using TNEW. But people need to demonstrate that they qualify for the membership (show us an employee ID or something of the like) and that doesn't really work online. Whatever it ends up being, it needs to be something that wouldn't be available to everyone.

We aren't set up with our memberships being set up as a product and we are waiting until new membership functionality is available in the up coming year(s) before we make any major changes to how our memberships are set up.

Does anyone out there have any cool ideas about this? Work arounds?

  • We have used Order Channel in the past.  However, not sure that this is a great idea.

You could also use one of the 10 custom order fields.
