non-specific donor communications

Hi everyone,

How do you track non-specific donor communications?  Not for things relating to specific development campaigns (like a lunch to discuss a potential donation to Capital Campaign), but for general cultivation/keeping in touch.  We use a combination of notes and reminders, but I’d love to get it all in one place that’s reportable.  Would a general ‘Cultivation’ catch-all campaign and plan work, do you think?....  Let the hive mind  brainstorming commence!

Cheers,

Kathleen

  • Hi Kathleen,

Interesting question.  Since you are brainstorming, I have some more clarification questions.  What is the end goal?  i.e. You mentioned you wanted it to be reportable, what do you need to report.  You said you use reminders, so are those reminders prompting you to action?

Off the top, have you considered using Special Activities.  You could have one that is “General Cultivation”.  That would be reportable – depending on what you need to see.

    Best,

    Tony
