Using Plans to track Community Engagement Partners?

Hello Tess community - 

Does anyone have experience using the Plans functionality for tracking non-fundraising related relationships/etc at your organization. We are looking to implement Plans as part of our strategy for tracking relationships with community partners... any tips?

    We are using plans to track the group sales process.  It's not exactly what you are referring to but it's a non-fundraising relationship.

    Are there specific questions you have?  It's been working nicely for us since it allows anyone to view the status of an order, you can easily assign steps to other people, set deadlines to keep on track, etc.  We did have to add a couple of custom fields to the Portfolio for Next Open Step / Date as well as Past Due Step / Date since those fields weren't available out of the  box.
