If a pledge lives on a household, if there any way to place a unique initiator for different pledge payments? For example, if a husband/wife household creates a pledge, is there anyway to document that the husband initiated the first pledge payment and the wife initiated the second pledge payment?

I'm pretty sure you can only use the initiator function on the contribution level, not the pledge payment level. What you could do is use the notes function in the payment window to specify other kinds of information such as who was the payor.
