Donor Giving Year Over Yaer

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a report would should a donor's giving year over year for multiple years?   I'd like to see the giving totals for major gift officers' portfolios.  I've tried to use to Donor FY Giving Summary, but it doesn't appear that this includes soft credits.

Thanks!

  • Hi Justin,

I would typically use output elements for this type of reporting. We've built elements that sum full fiscal years, as well as broken up between Annual Fund and Special Events. If you don't have these, the important thing for your DBA to incorporate is a mechanism to include adjustments and write-offs in the sum logic.

Otherwise you could use fund activity report and pivot by fiscal year. Wouldn't be so bad either!

  • Justin,

Do you have an “Extended Output Report”.  I have been at 2 organizations that use Tessitura and each one had its own customized Extended Output Report.  It does include soft credits.

I always assumed that each organization had an Extended output report, but maybe not…

    Best,

    Tony

  • I use output sets. I had my DBA create multiple “Total Giving” elements with drop downs of my campaigns.

    For example, I can select

    ·         “Total Giving 1_p” (p means parameter driven) to report on 13-14 Board giving

    ·         “Total Giving 2_p” to report on 14-15 Board giving

    ·         “Total Giving 1_p” to report on 15-16 Board giving

    ·         “Total Giving 1_p” to report on 16-17 Board giving

I also have another set of elements that will give me soft credits: “Total Giving w SC 1 _p.”

You will need to notate what your selections are within each outputset element that you choose, because your spreadsheet will only show you the description of the element, not what you selected.

    I hope that helps.

    Marie
