I have a very interesting, but hopefully not foreign question.
I have 2 campaigns (appeals in Tess) running at the same time right now and both campaigns (appeals in Tess) have match grants. There is an overlap of donors that their gift qualifies them for inclusion in BOTH appeals and subsequently both matches. So far we have only been counting gifts in one appeal or the other and not "doubling up."
I would really like to hear suggestions or best practices for tracking. Is it advised to track/count the gifts toward the campaign/appeal with the strongest intention: ie someone returns a gift with appeal #1 reply card paperwork and only count the gift in that appeal? Or is there a practice to count that one gift for the purpose of both appeals' matching funds?
