I'm going to send out a direct mail asking for donations. I want to set up a source and appeal for this so I can have a record of how successful it is. However, we also use online donations and that will be listed as one of the ways constituents can donate.
I was wondering what the process would be to keep track of the appeal on online donations. Is there a way to amend an online donation in Tessitura so you attach it to a particular source and appeal manually?

You can change the source code on a contribution at any point after it has been added. Different organizations handle online gifts differently. In our case if the gift has been made online within a few days of the mailing, then we change the source code to match the direct mail source and appeal but leave the Channel as "internet." That way we can track how well the mailing did in total, including those online gifts.
