How to identify gift memberships? How does the "benefit holder" box get checked?

We are thinking about making use of gift memberships.  I am able to create a gift membership, but have not yet figured out a way to pull a list of just those people who have recieved gift memberships.

I thought that the "benefit holder" checkbox might get checked when a person recieved a gift membership, but that doesn't seem to be happenning.  Does the "benefit holder" checkbox have to get manually updated?

  • Gift membership can be identified by the creditee type.  When a gift membership entered made the Benefactor field in the membership record is completed when gift membership is entered.

A benefit holder membership record is typically a manually entered record – which the Benefactor and Benefit Holder field are complete by the data entry person – (Fdn & Corp giving benefits to its folks).   Benefit holder check distinguishes paid membership and not.  Renewal notices are not pulled for records with the check.
