Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a way to split a HH in a consortium environment where A1 is a VIP at one organization and A2 is a VIP at another organization. We want A1 to keep all our data and history but another org wants A2 to keep all their data and history. Is there a way to split the household so that we can keep all our data with A1 and the other org can keep all their data with A2?
Thanks so much!
Mark
Hi Mark,
We are part of a consortium and currently don’t have any set guidelines in place on splitting households as they are handled as they happen. One possible way of splitting these VIPs and keeping information with them would be to create new accts for VIP 1 and VIP 2 and put them in new households if appropriate. Then with the old acct you could use Owner, Initiator, Recipient to share the history on the old household with the new accts for orders and donations (which could be a soft credit). That way each organization could handle moving or updating the transactions as they desire and they will then be able to see the history in the respective VIPs acct, but retain what the history was when a couple.
(You could just move the orders and adjust donations to the new accts, but you will only see the transaction in the new accts). Once this is completed, any attributes, relationships, constituencies, etc. that you need on the new accts could be added/moved and an association could be created to the old accts and all the old accts could be inactivated.
Not sure if it would work for you, but maybe something along these lines would.
Hope that helps.
