Hullo all
We're looking at using Plans for Planned Giving moves management - is anyone doing this?
We now use the Planned Gifts screen on the History tab to record and track from prospecting to completed gifts.
We're interested though to use Plans, in part so work in progress with PG prospects is visible there for colleagues working on major or annual gift campaigns also.
If you're happily integrating both Plans and Planned Gifts/History records for your PG prospects, I'd love to know more!
Thanks,
Jessica
Hi Jessica,
We've been running legacy gifts through Planned Giving and recently started migrating over to a mix of Plans and the Planned Giving module. Essentially, a prospect for a legacy remains in Plans with a non-financial year 'Legacy Campaign' until a legacy is confirmed, the Plan is closed as such then we use the Planned Giving module to record the bequest.
If Plans contained a document management element, we would consider moving fully into Plans.
There was a post a few months back that brought up similar discussions if you're looking for more ideas, Georgia from WNO appears to be doing something similar to us.

We're using Plans for planned giving, though not particularly rigorously as yet. We do not like the Planned Gifts screen at all, and it has seen use only rarely and very inconsistently over the years since we first went live on Tessitura. We have a single, multi-year prospect campaign for Planned Giving, and I have a separate group of plan statuses for use with PG plans.
For what it's worth, you can attach documents to plan steps, e.g. you could add a step for "Letter sent" and then attach the letter to that step. We've started doing that somewhat regularly for our major giving prospects.
Thanks Mathew and Victoria, much appreciated.
We'll go ahead and move all our cultivation moves track to Plans and use the History PG area for the confirmed legacy detail. Appreciate your point Mathew that you have your PG-specific statuses available in Plans - with that in place, we'll be good to go.
Thanks for your help.
