Grants

Hello,

We currently don't enter Grant institutions or money into Tessitura.  Can anyone tell me how you put that information into Tessitura so the data can be pulled out seperately in a way that works for you?  Do you use Associations, Constituencies, etc.?  Just interested in best practices.

Thanks!

  • Stuart,

When creating the accounts I recommend a different Constituent Type  - set up in system table tr_cust_type - with an N1N2 Format of OI.

We have const types like "Individual", "Corporation", "Government Agency", "Foundation" etc.

For the gifts, it depends on how you have your campaigns and funds set up but I recommend at least putting the money to a separate fund.  We actually put it to separate funds and separate campaigns.

For example we have the campaigns: FY10 Foundation with funds Foundation - General, Foundation - Education etc. and FY10 Corporate with funds like Corporate - General, Corporate - Education etc.  However, many organizations set this up differently.

If you are looking for examples of how people set up their campaigns and funds, just ask a question on this forum, I'm sure people would be glad to share.

    Dale

  • Thanks, I’ll pass this info onto our Development department.

  • Hi Dale,

We would like to know more about. Do you have a documentation you can share with me at schoondassery@intrepidmuseum.org

  • Just reaching out to say that I am my organization's primary grantwriter and also the Devo leader for Tessitura. A lot of orgs find institutional giving lags behind in Tess usage but I am always happy to help figure out how to get them on board.

If an email volley or a phone chat would be helpful, please feel free to reach out-- KateWelham@GoodmanTheatre.org.

  • Sharon, I'm afraid I don't have any documentation to share.  This thread is from 11 years ago Slight smile  I would say maybe start a new thread asking your specific questions, I'm sure people would be glad to share.
