Hi All,
We've just made the leap to Tessitura and are still trying to figure out which of our many Excel spreadsheets it might be able to replace for us. I was wondering if anybody has been tracking their board nominating pipeline in Tess. I would want to capture data like the date they were nominated, by whom, and every step along the cultivation process, including whether they have been elected to a board, dropped from consideration, or deemed to need more cultivation before approaching in earnest.
I've been experimenting with CSIs, which seems like a viable option, but would need a bit of customization on our end. Before I re-invent the wheel, though, I thought I'd reach out to this community to see if somebody already had a great solution that worked.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
Best,

Hi Jessica,
We don't do this as we don't have a Board structure in the same way as you do, but one thought I had would be to use Plans (v12 functionality) to do this, especially as you can customize the different steps. I'm looking at using it for some processes other than cultivation at the moment which is why I thought of itI'm sure other people will have some other idea or examples of how they do it though.

Hi Jessica -
I will echo Caryl in saying that there are definitely organizations out there that are using plans to track board cultivation.
Good luck!
Heather
We are (mostly) using Plans for this. I think it makes a lot of sense because the board cultivation process parallels the major gift cultivation process in so many ways. We track board cultivation using the same campaigns we have set up for board giving in fact, although you could set up a "Prospect" campaign (also new in v12 I believe,) if you wanted to track board cultivation completely separately from giving.
In terms of elected to board, dropped from consideration, needs more cultivation, those are all things you could configure as statuses; you can use plan workers to track nominator(s), and you can easily customize Plan Steps to fit anything you need to plan/record along the way.
I suggest looking into Plans. I think these are more in line with what you are doing.
