We recently moved from Raiser's Edge into Tessitura and one thing we're trying to figure out is the best place to record actions that aren't part of any plan (like a note left at a performance or a thank you letter, and so on). For things like a staff member having lunch with a donor or prospect we can utilize the activities screen, but for other forms of contact we're unsure. Are there any other organizations that record actions not associated with a plan? Do you have any suggestions on the best place to store that information?
Thanks,Colleen
I would recommend one of 2 places.
1) “CSI” (customer service issue) – this report is good for scheduling and sending specific issues/requests based on categorical information within the CSI. This takes a bit more set-up than a reminder, but could be very beneficial depending on your business practices.
2) “Reminders” – these are not directly linked to a plan and can be assigned to any user. Also, users can access reminders at any time while logged in as well as have the Reminders screen be the first thing they see at log in. To set that, go into TOOLS -> Preferences and check the box that says “Show Reminders at Login”
FYI – “Tasks” function like reminders, but are directly located within and linked to a Plan.
Check out Tessitura’s documentation for each of these and see which works best for what you want to accomplish.
Thanks,
Marie

Thank you all for the suggestions! We had definitely considered CSI and Reminders, but Research Notes is a good idea as well.
Thanks again!
