Thanks so much for your reply. In printing acknowledgment letters, what’s the best way to pull name, address, date of gift, gift amount, membership level so I can merge into letter? I’m pulling all gifts Friends of Lied gifts and then end up doing a filter to only see FY 2016 and then selecting the one’s needing letters. If someone makes two gifts, gift one has received acknowledgement letter months ago and now has made a 2nd donation. I want to send another acknowledgement letter, but only referencing the 2nd donation. Is there a best practice in pulling this info? Is there a better way to pulling info for acknowledgement letters?

If you have have your membership levels set up as ranges and not fixed prices Tessitura should upgrade them automatically. For reporting you do need to watch out for 'gifts' versus 'donors'. We use the Campaign Revenue Detail Report to track where we are in the year, but it counts contributions and not donors. For donors it's easiest to generate a list of constituents with your campaign year. If they have two gifts, they will still only be on the list once.
I wouldn't recommend using the same source as the renewal gift. We have an outside source of Unsolicited additional gift for gifts we don't ask for. We also send an additional gift ask that is promoted separately so we know that's where the gifts are coming from.

Making a 2nd membership donation to an annual campaign? Any helpful suggestions to share the process used in making additional contribution to an account? Can we use the same appeal/source code as the initial gift?
Reporting, how do we make sure the membership level is updated to new level and reporting will generate both gifts, and still count as one donor.
Are there canned reports you find most helpful in Development use, or have you had customized reporting done?
We are all new and searching tips other Development folks have found to be helpful.

Hi Donna,
Are you assigning acknowledgements during contribution processing and printing them using the Print Acknowledgement Letters report? When you assign one with the gift it includes all that information in a mergeable format.
Definitely read through all the Development set up in the Help system. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
