The Assistant Director of Individual Gifts will develop and coordinate the execution of solicitations within individual gift prospects and donors. This includes management of existing strategies but also developing and executing new strategies to reach new donor bases and maximize existing.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Demonstrate commitment to Shedd's vision, mission and values. Direct fundraising activities for a portfolio of approximately 150 existing and potential donors who are capable of making contributions for the benefit of Shedd Aquarium. Develop strategies to continually identify and engage new prospects to be added to the portfolio using such techniques as data mining, research, rating and screening. Developing new strategies and programs will be paramount to meet monthly gift goal as well as yearly target. Develop and integrate engagement strategies into the overall development program, with a focus on growing participation and giving efforts for Shedd Aquarium. Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle: - Initiate contact - Develop appropriate cultivation strategies for these donors - Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure - Make solicitations - Maintain stewardship contacts with donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards. Represent Shedd Aquarium and Development at high-profile events. Partner amongst peers at Shedd to develop new initiatives, create new benefits, and broaden the reach and impact of individual giving with the Development department and across Shedd. Monitor revenue and associated expenses. Perform other duties as assigned.
