Tessitura On the Go

Hello!

Our Development Team here at The Granada Theatre is looking to utilize Tessitura on the Go, specifically the ability to update plans and steps using the voice recording method showcased by Chuck at the last two conferences.  However, the documentation doesn't seem to cover this bit and we were wondering if anyone else is using this and if so would you be so kind as to point us in the right direction?

Thanks!

  • I believe that Chuck and Andrew the year before had an iPhones. The iPhone provides text to speech capabilities native to the phone. I believe that in these demonstrations, they were just using that feature. And using it to do the typing. No need to turn on any feature in Tessitura except Tessitura on the go. (The web user interface. Which it sounds like you have already found.)

Go to the place in Tessitura on the go where you wish to enter the text. On the iPhone's keyboard (for those iPhones supporting this feature. (I think iPhone 4s and more recent.)) there is a microphone button next to the keyboard. Press that and the phone starts listening. Speak clearly to the phone. You can add punctuation by saying things like "period", "question mark"... Press done and you will see what the phone thought you said. These capabilities also exist in Windows, Mac OS X, an I believe Android.

Surrounding condition play a big part in accuracy. Placing the microphone near your mouth however not in air stream, and a low level of background noise are very helpful.

    Hope this helps...

    Hi Christopher,

We have been using the Plans for a few months and have been finding them great.

However, we have been typing in the updates and have not found the voice recording functionality yet either, so would also like to know how to activate this.

    thanks,

    Dara
