Storing Naming Opportunities

Hello All,

We are in a Naming Opportunity phase of our Capital Campaign. I am looking for ways to store these naming opportunities in the specific constituent records in Tessitura.

I know that there are custom fields within one tab of the contribution record, however these donors have multiple gifts toward this campaign. It would not be ideal to add the naming to each of those gift entries.

I thought about using program listing, however I would be limited on the information I need to enter.

I need to enter the exact wording of their name as well as the item/location they are naming.

Any help/direction/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Marie

At City Center we used Customer Service issues for our Capital Campaign.  We created a CSI Category of "Capital" and CSI Activity Types of "Seat Naming" and "Wall Naming."  All information such as dedication and seat location was entered in the text field.  This meant we wouldn't easily be able to do specific things with that information automatically, but we only ever needed to see it, which we did with the Customer Service Issue Tracking report.

We also used Program Listing because we listed Capital Donors in Playbill, and sometimes their name in Playbill would be different than their dedication on the wall or seat.

We created a dummy season and seating map of the theatre to keep track of named seats and make sure two different people wanted to name the same seat, but we ultimately didn't need to use it.

We also considered adding more CSI Activity Types for major naming sponsorships (Grand Tier, etc.), but didn't do that, either.

  • If there's a lot of free form data to save, I'd probably suggest adding it to Research > Notes, under a custom note type. CSIs are another option.
