Has anyone converted the probability field to a drop down in plans? If so, how many headaches did this cause? Have you put text in the front end, with percentage values in the back end? Or are you simply using a drop down with numbers.
If no one has managed to convert this field to a drop down, have you managed to restrict the amount of values available to enter? How do you deal with the fact that there are essentially 100 options in that field to choose from?

We haven't tried to make any changes to the probability field directly, but we are exploring using custom plan fields, (which appear under "Custom Data" on the plan screen.) If the probability field isn't meeting your needs you could certainly create your own dropdown with text values (or a range of numeric options, or whatever,) and use that instead of probability. Since setting up custom plan fields happens entirely in the system tables, I'd imagine that would be considerably less effort than trying to customize the existing probability field. It took me a little bit of trial and error to get a custom plan dropdown working, but it's relatively straightforward.
