Hi all. We have a few people whose pledges have been put under the wrong source code. Is there a way of changing the source code for it to reflect on reports? I've looked around the help documents and couldn't find anything about this. Thank you so much for your help!
I recommend keeping a tally of these sorts of changes in case you run into a reconciliation issue down the road.
DETAILS
The method of changing the source code in the constituent’s contribution tab makes the change in the contribution table only, not in the transaction table. This means you have to be wary of reporting and generally assume that financial reports, which typically output from the transaction table) and contribution reports (contribution table) will not line up just on source number and description. This can get tricky if you do it a lot and you’re trying to reconcile anything to the source level with your finance department, or when using “their” source reports for development reporting.

Hi Michelle,
It's pretty easy to change a source code manually. When you're under the contribution tab, double click into the pledge and you can manually change the source code by clicking the "chiclet." This may work great if you only have a couple of changes to make but I'm not sure what you would do if you want to globally update a lot. Hope this helps.
