Debit Transactions as Recurring Gifts

Hello,

I'd like to create an option for donors to make recurring gifts on an automated basis using EFT or ACH rather than credit cards. In the past (pre-Tessitura), I used a 3rd party for these transactions (Vanco) and conducted regular batch imports into my donor database to track the donations.

Does anyone use Tessitura for this? If not, who do you use, and how do you integrate the data into Tessitura?

Thanks in advance for sharing.

  • Last year we moved to Stripe for all our online donations and do a daily import into Tessitura. Stripe offers an ACH option, though we don't have it available on our customer-facing form, but can also use it from the back-end. We get a 1-2 inquiries a year for this, so the next time someone asks I finally get to say yes!

Related, Stripe is a large processor so when a monthly donor's CC changes, Stripe is supposed to get this change from Visa/MC/Amex and automatically update the recurring charge. It's hard to say if the scenario has happened yet with our monthly donors who signed up in the last 7 months, but I can say that we haven't had any failed recurring gifts, either.
