Devo on Account $$ in Individual vs household record

I had trouble enter such a contribution.

One patron made a contribution with ticket purchase and as usual the ticketing office set the contribution aside for me to enter in contribution batches. When I tried to enter this contribution the batch automatically switched me to the household account where I could not see the on account $$ in the money bag. Assuming it only exist in the individual account.

What do I do?

Thank you.

  • You should check with your AppSupport/IT folks to make certain they added this feature – also if you don’t convert Individuals to Households or visa versa you may not have access –

When you are in the individual record of the household – click on Constituent and one of your options should be Household Operations.  Next within Household Operations one of the options should be Move Transactions to Household

Thank you Leslie. I have never done that can you be more specific? Sorry to trouble you. Can I just move that specific amount on the on the on-account to household from that individual record? Or do i have to move the entire ticket history to the household?

    Thank you so much!

    Joe

Use the Household operation to transfer the On-Account from the Individual to Household. Then you can move as usual.

  • Hi Leslie,

Thank you again. We do have the household operations options of move transactions to household. The options are: Contributions, Soft Credit, Membership, Orders, and Ticket/Sub History. I am not certain which one to choose to move the on account money. I guess I will try it at Test after our next Live-Test copy and see if it works. So far I think this would be the best solution (if indeed it works).

I really hope this works because I foresee more cases like this one. And thank you so much for your advice!

    Joe

  • Hi Leslie,

Thank you for the suggestion and it works well. I had to wait for our Marketing Director to be back from vacation before testing this method out and it worked well.

    Thank you again very much.
