Lock Box at Bank for Donations

We are exploring the use of a Lock Box at our bank for our membership renewals.  Has anyone used this service and did you use the contribution import utility?  If so, how did it work for you?

  • Hi there,

We are very new to Tessitura (live with our development and marketing departments last month) and we are using a lockbox service for general membership renewals along with the contribution important utility.

The import set up, mainly the XML format file (template is the library), took a while to get right but works just fine. The only problematic behavior is that the transaction date of all contributions in your import defaults to whatever gift date is in your lockbox file.

The gift processor can go into each gift prior to closing the imported batch to adjust the transaction date but this obviously isn't ideal and isn't the way I expect this utility to work.

Please feel free to reach out with any specific questions.

We have a lockbox for our guild auxiliary, but we have NOT used the contribution import utility. We should look into that. Could you let me know if you receive helpful information?
