Good morning all,
Is there a way for a user to globally add a new salutation. My case is that I have an excel list of 425 names (all with Tessitura accounts) that I want to add a "Informal" salutation type to and add the appropriate names. Can this be done at my level using a function/report or does it need to be back-doored.

I think this would have to be done via SQL. I recently added new salutations (a custom informal lsal_desc specifically) to all our donors and Subs at the request of Devo, and it was pretty painless. Want to know more?
Thanks Chris. I was guessing that it would have to be done by our IT department. I was just hoping that I could do it myself and save them some work. I appreciate the feedback.
Hi Chris,
Is there any way that you could share the SQL code for this? We dont have anyone skilled in writing it but we have a few people that can tweak it. Im trying to add a custom salutation to about 1500 people and really want to avoid doing it manually.
Thanks
Sure, will reply offline.
I believe you got in touch with Michael Manchester before with a Script on how to do global salutations add. I'm working with the script you sent - could you contact me offline to discuss a few details of it? I'm trying to piece it together to work with our system and our tables.
Sure, will do.
Good morning Chris,
Is there any chance I could follow up with you about the SQL for adding new salutations to all donors? I'm wanting to do this now just so that the salutation type exists and can be formalized via the Rebuild Salutations utility.
Thank you!
Brian
Sure, Brian. Replying with attachment offline...
Would you mind sending that over to me as well? Running into the same issues here.
It was just a code sample, not something ready to use without modification, and might be getting a little old, but, in case it is useful, please see link below:
