My organization is still new to Tessitura and we are getting ready to move into a new fiscal year . On the "Year End and Season End Closeout Procedures" checklist there is a bullet titled "Reschedule Membership Update Utility." After doing some research on the forum, I'm understanding that this is something I should have been running all year, but have not been (this was never something discussed in our initial training). We are on a fixed initiation membership (initiation is the start of the fiscal yaer, 7/1 and expiration is end of FY, 6/30) and I am completely lost what parameters to use to run this utility. I can't seem to find any webinar or documentation that clearly explains what this utility does, but it's very clear you don't want to make a mistake when running this.
Does anyone have any information on what dates I should be using for this utility? I appreciate any sort of feedback!

Here's the (v11) documentation for the Membership Update Utility. (Here's the same documentation for v12.) I've found the flowchart under "Utility Processing Summary" to be quite useful in understanding how the utility works.
We have it scheduled to run nightly, using start date 12 months before report run date to end date 1 day before the report run date. If you're new enough to Tessitura that all your memberships are less than a year old I think running with those parameters should bring all of them up to date. Although if your existing memberships all have an expiration of 6/30/14 you probably won't have too many that are out of date anyway.
As far as I know, the main thing to be careful of is that you're never running it with an end date in the future. Hopefully the documentation will give you a better idea what you need for your setup though!
