Hello,
We have had a few contributions added to records in error. What is the safest way to remove these? They are in a uncontrolled batch.
Thanks in advance
Kelly
I would think adjusting the contributions down to zero would be the best practice in situations like this. Once transactions are committed to the database, like they are in an uncontrolled batch, it is generally not a good idea to try and remove them since they touch a large number of tables in the system. Adjusting will ensure that the data tables aren't incorrectly edited and will eliminate any unforeseen consequences. Since you are in an uncontrolled batch, you can probably adjust the contributions within the same batch. At the very least you can open a new batch once this one is closed, make the adjustments, and then post the two batches together so that the errors don't show up in the accounting.
