Legacies/Planned Giving

Hi All,

I might be being really dim here but I can't see in Tessitura how to log a potential legacy if there is no known amount attached to it, or how to add a legacy contribution to a deceased person's record (I current'y make it active and then inactivate it again. There also doesn't seem to be anywhere to put solicitor details. How are other people using Tessitura for legacy giving.

Cheers,

Georgia.

  • Hi Victoria,

I am using plans. It seems to be the best way of tracking prospects and any activity we do from a stewardship perspective.

    Cheers,

I'd be super interested in this, the committee are talking about putting it on the EU conference DEV schedule.

We currently track Legacies like Plans and have their own step types, a non-financial year assigned campaign and a 'legacy solicitor' worker type. This means everything is read-only following a death/inactivation but can connect to a new estate record if needed or via a surviving partner. We can at least report on potential until we have enough information to place as an actual Planned Gift.

    Hi Georgia,

Did you ever get anywhere with this?  Currently looking at improving our systems and have the same issues.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

  • Hello ladies,

We are still on V11(!) so are currently using Solicitations to track, but are looking forward to switching over to Plans.

Has anyone who uses an Estate constituent type encountered any issues with it?  We're looking to avoid the constant reactivation of deceased accounts & also improve our reporting.

    Thanks,

    Sarah
