I have yet another interesting project that I am working on and that I could use some feedback for.
We are restructuring our Appeal / Source structure and I am wondering how best to use the Appeal Category and the Source Group.Would you mind sharing some of your choices for me?My second question is, how do you deal with sources for institutional giving where tracking appeals and sources is usually less important. Do you have one Appeal / source for ALL of your institutional giving or do you break it down somehow? Thanks !!!MonikaMonika JouvertBrooklyn Academy of MusicDevelopment Business Process Director718.623.7810 x6 / internally x4253mjouvert@bam.orghttp://www.bam.org
Monika,
We don't do much with Appeal Categories or Source Groups - our only types for both are "Marketing" and "Development".
For Institutional giving we have acquisition and renewal appeals for each campaign and we have the following campaigns:
Corporate, Foundation, Gov't City, Gov't State, Gov't Federal
Appeal examples - "FY10 Corporate Renewal", "FY10 Foundation Acquisition", etc.
For Institutional sources we generally create one source for each gift under the appropriate appeal. The source is named after the effort that resulted in a gift. For example "Proposal 8/1/2009" or "Final Report 3/5/2009" or "Online App. 6/8/2009".
