Does anyone have any experience with discounting memberships and how to process them in Tessitura. We are launching our membership program and we would like to be able to offer certain people the ability to buy memberships at a discounted rate. For example, we have a community partner that is going to offer our members a discount at their facility and in return, their members would be able to purchase a discounted membership for our organization ($500 membership with benefits for $100 or something along those lines). I can't seem to find anything about how we can set up Tessitura to do that.
We offer membership discounts during our membership months but we don't have a super savvy way to set it up in Tessitura. We create an appeal and sources for those being offered the discount, promote them in their records and then during gift entry, if they received that appeal (and in some cases also redeem it in the appropriate time period) we manually give them the correct membership.
I'd love to have a less manual way to do this but haven't run across anything in Tessitura that could be set-up to automate. There may be value in researching the use of promo codes if selling discounted memberships on the web but we haven't had the resources to investigate that, and depending on how gift entry for web gifts is configured it may or may not be less work.

Just wondering if anyone got any further with this? We want to be able to offer the discounts online, but it looks as though this is only available through a customisation of promo-codes for contributions.
Did anyone find another way?

This is something I am now looking into as well. We currently do it through Fees (which is historical and needs reviewing).
I have been playing with the idea of having a Discount Membership level, so the membership is triggered at the lower amount and we can use all the standard functionality. Then online (we use TNEW) set the min required amount at the full amount - does anyone see any potential flaws in that approach? Apart from the wrong amount being selected at the Ticketing Office?
I would also like to see a more standard way of doing this (and I think this is being looked at in the Roadmap) but if anyone has a more creative way then I'm open to suggestions.
