I have written off a Direct Debit pledge for a membership. I have discovered that we haven't actually recieved the money for the first 2 contributions of that pledge. I need to edit those 2 contributions of the wrriten off pledge, but I am unable to do this.
Is it possible to edit earlier contributions of a pledge that is now written off?

I think you are running into the same issue that showed up in this thread from awhile back.
The short answer is that writing off a pledge prevents any future editing of the payments, soft credits, contribution amount, etc.
There are some work arounds for this (see the linked thread for some ideas). Essentially you need to trick Tess into thinking the pledge hasn't been written off. Once you've done that, you should be able to edit the contribution as you normally would.
