When running NCOA address appends, we often run into problems with those updated addresses not being the preferred address for our Board, VIP's, etc. We then have to spend time cross-checking and doing more work than we should. How do others combat this problem? We also currently don't run NCOA through Tessitura which could be a problem itself. We have their preferred addresses marked in Tessitura but want to be sure that doesn't change when the NCOA is run. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for the info Tony! The more I research, the more I’m finding that we will simply need to suppress those people from the mass update. Can you please elaborate on the second run scenario? Do you mean I could submit that segment separately and then manually check the results to see if any addresses do need to be changed?

Hello,
The way we have always handled it at the Nashville Symphony and when I was at the Indianapolis Symphony – we exclude Board members, higher end donors and other VIP’s from the NCOA update. We would then research and update those manually. You could also do a second run of those and not run the import.
Best,
Tony

Hi Angela! David with Phoenix Theatre here. I'm wondering what you ultimately landed on regarding this issue with formal addresses. My Development team wants to retain the formal spelling of Board, donors, etc addresses through the NCOA process so I'm in the same boat you were. Thanks so much for your time!
