I feel like I've done this in the past but it's not allowing me to do it now...
We entered a three year board commitment. They should have entered at that time three separate pending memberships, but they did not. The person who entered gifts claims that the allocate funds button was grayed out at the time of entry.
I've tried to manually enter them after the fact, but it will only allow me to have one active membership at a time, I get an error message as soon as I select membership category.
Help!

Heather,
This happened to me today, too! Especially strange as I had done the exact same transaction in TEST and it worked fine. I added a contribution to a constituent and thought I'd allocated the funds to a new membership, as well as credited part of the contribution to another household as this constituent had renewed their membership AND bought a membership as a gift.
I was able to manually add a pending membership to the giftee. In TEST the new pending membership was automatically added to the original constituent, but this time it wasn't and when I try to add I manually I get the same error that there is already an active membership or the contribution is in an open batch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Sheela
