Triggering Restricted GLs

Hello,

I need to correct several contributions which the Finance dept. has determined should be restricted. When re-entering these contributions, the associated funds have restricted GLs attached to them. If I use the Restricted during my contribution entry, and schedule the duration of restriction, is this the only step necessary to ensure that the monies are allocated to the correct GL code within the Fund? Any input would be much appreciated!

Also: after the batch has been closed, is there any way to change the timeline of the restriction? Finance is unsure of the end date as of this moment.

Thanks,

-Elisabeth

  • You may not actually have to re-enter these contribution – it sounds like you are adding the restricted GL to the fund code.  If this is case, you can do an adjustment for these contributions and restrict thru the restricted schedule – the schedule can be adjusted again should you need to  change it .
