Tessitura For Auction Items

We are hoping to use Tessitura at our Gala Event in 2014 to process all of our auction item sales.  It is a large event and we charge everyone for the purchases as they leave the theater on the night of the event.  I'm trying to find out if other organizations process their auction sales through Tess, if they do this on the Development or Ticketing Side, and what the most effective approaches have been.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

  • We process auction items in the Ticketing module.  Any amount above the fair market value goes on account and a contribution is created with the overage amount.  Any amount below FMV is not tax-deductible and not considered a contribution so that’s why we don’t process there.  We had a custom report created to combine the revenue from both the Dev & Box module to see the big picture earned that night.

We use Bid Pal devices for the auction night and an express pay form to capture credit card info then process the actual transaction the following week.
