I work for a visual and performing arts center and we are about to embark on a multi-year capital campaign to renovate our theater and add two wings onto the building. We are brand new to Tessitura and quite frankly would appreciate as much feedback as we can get on campaign set-up. At this stage we are planning to create one large campaign that spans over the years. We are looking for suggestions on how to set-up the structure/hierarchy so that we can utilize all that Tessitura has to offer. Aside from this, we are particularly interested in the research tab and its use in the moves management process.
Much thanks in advance for your help!
Here’s a mock up of set up we were given by a David Caruthers at Tessitura. I found it helpful.

Hi Stacey,
There's definitely some variation between organizations in campaign setup. I have found that multi-year campaigns complicate my reporting and list pulls somewhat, because with a campaign tied to a single year you can pull lists and reports based on campaign only, whereas with a multi-year campaign you often have to take contribution dates into consideration as well. It's not a huge issue most of the time, but something to keep in mind. You might find some useful information on this forum thread from a few months back where several of us discussed our approaches.
As for moves management, we implemented a much more comprehensive system this year. If you're not already familiar with them, I think you'll find that Solicitations are a much more useful hub for moves management than the Research tab, (which is not to say the Research tab doesn't have its uses.) Solicitations can seem overly complex at first but you really have a lot of flexibility in terms of how you set up and use them. That's something I've had a lot of direct experience with in the last year and I would be happy to share my experience if it would be useful.
Good luck, and welcome!
Thanks so much Kristin! I appreciate your information!
Thanks so much Matthew! I will look into the solicitations area...if I get stuck I will be sure to get back to you:-)
Hello,
Can you send the attachment for the mock-up. We are possibly entering into a multi-year capital campaign. Thanks!
