Dealing with Soft Credits and Cont. Total in Solicitations

Hi!

We are wondering how others handle Soft Credts(Creditees) and Cont. Total in Solicitations.

When we receive a gift, for an Individaul from a Family Foundation, we enter the gift in the Foundation record and make the Individual a creditee.  The Solicitation is in the Individuals record, but since the gift is in the Family Foundation record, the Cont. Total in the Solicitation does not reflect the gift amount. In order to pull reports we would like the Cont. Total to reflect the gift amount.  Does anyone deal with this, in a way other than by putting the Solicitation in the Family Foundation record?

Thanks,  Melissa

  • We had a similar issue. We wanted to include people who were "credited" for gifts as well.

We had our DBA build custom list criteria and outputset elements to include Soft Credits. I have Contribution w/ SC, Fund w/ SC, Total Giving w/ SC, etc.

Another option might be to have custom element that pulls the value of the "Recorded Amount" in a list or output set
