Corporate Members, Courtesy Cards and Best Practices

Hello Development and Memberships gurus,

I am reviewing our Corporate Membership  at the moment, and one of the benefits we offer is a number of Courtesy Cards for the corporate members. Presently these have no constituent ID barcode, and are only used over the counter for General Public ticket purchases.

In an ideal world, when a Corporate Member joins, we would magically have constituent records for their employees and email addresses (web logins) and allow them to have their own member card to use their benefits, and allow us to measure the effectiveness of our offer.

Sadly in this unideal world, there is only the primary contact for the corporate membership who has an Individual record with the corporate membership benefits. All other reps from their company simply use untracked courtesy cards, or use the 'Complimentary Ticket Vouchers' that are given to the company on joining/renewing.

Here are the immediate strategies that I am thinking of implementing, and I would love to hear the thoughts and experiences of others in this area:

  • For new Courtesy Cards, print the Constituent ID of the Company (although this makes me nervous having a person make bookings over the counter under a Constituent ID that is not them personally).
  • Print barcodes on the  'Complimentary Ticket Vouchers' that automatically enter a Source number that is dedicated for tracking vouchers given to a certain company.
  • Encourage the new corporate member to nominate persons to have their own personalised corporate membership cards, which would require full address/email.

Thanks all!
