Campaign Custom tabs

When setting up Campaigns there is a custom tab with 6 radio buttons for setting up custom information.  I was curious if anyone was using these and if so what types of information you are storing in there.  One idea that we had was to just create a tab to record information about the campaign (such as was any special challenges made during the campaign, or large one time gifts made) that would be useful for historical purposes.  Interested to hear if anyone is using this.

  • We had some custom work done to create a screen under that tab this spring. It allows us to enter/update data on each contribution in that campaign very quickly.

    In detail: Each contribution we process gets processed again by the university, and we put in a date in a custom field in each gift to reflect the date it is verified by the university.
    So now, instead of opening each individual gift to update, we update en masse using an editable field in the Campaign custom tab.

    I could also see it being used to view some SSRS reports filtered by that campaign, for easy access. (That is, if the people who need it have access to the campaigns area...)

  • We use a custom tab in our subscriptions campaign to record important dates like the season announcement, single ticket on sale etc. It makes for an easy reference in reports. 

  • Early on after moving to Tessitura, our Devo folks would often want a little quick detail of what data underlay the Gift, Pledge, etc. totals in the main Campaign tab, so I made a Tree View InfoMaker custom tab (the only time I think I've ever used Tree View) that displays Appeal -> Source -> Patron data in a simple, drill-down way that answered some of those questions, without having to run a separate report.

    A quick and easy custom tab, and a popular one with users (the simplest ones so often are...)
