T-Stats use cases

Is anyone using T-Stats and only using the contributions cube? I am interested in using T-Stats but can’t seem to come up with a good use case where I would be getting something from T-Stats that I can’t get through a canned or customized report in Tessitura. Our memberships are completely customized so we cannot use the memberships cube at all. I would love to hear how other DEVO departments are using T-Stats to use that for inspiration to get me thinking outside the box.

Thanks for your help!

  • Hey Jess,

I actually use the contributions cube almost exclusively. I use it a lot for fine-tune reporting on appeals, designations, channels, and funds. There are a lot of canned appeal-based reports, but few that go into detail in those other areas as well.

It’s also great for showing comparisons over extended periods of time (monthly or multiple fiscal years). You could get the same numbers from a canned report, but you’d have to pull them multiple times. I did a presentation at this year’s TLCC during “Quickfire Tips for Data Analysis” that shows some of the pros and cons to T-Stats versus canned reports.

Hope this helps. Happy to chat more if you want more specifics.
