NSCAN Unattended Scanning Update

Hi Everyone –

Thanks for your understanding regarding our reschedule of the Pop Up Skill Builder this week on Contactless Scanning with NSCAN. We have been hard at work on the feature and are back on track after some brief delays this week related to vendor communication.

One aspect to this work that we endeavored to do was limit the need to purchase new hardware. The delays this week were related to confirming  which devices are compatible with the solution we have available to us with Zebra scanners. We needed to make absolutely certain that our messaging to the community was accurate about which scanners are and are not compatible with the solution we are shipping. While we had previously confirmed this with the manufacturer, discrepancies were discovered in development which we needed to resolve.

We have since gotten confirmation from the manufacturer and development is wrapping up this week on the feature, at which point it will go to our Quality Assurance (QA) team for validation. Once it clears QA we will be working with a small group of volunteer members to test the solution in preparation for the Pop Up Skill Builder rescheduled for July 1.

The device compatibility of the solution has been improved to include Zebra MC devices, in addition to TC devices, and there is no longer an accompanying DateWedge or Android OS version requirement; however, we suggest keeping your device software up-to-date with current manufacturer recommendations.

Many thanks, and we look forward to delivering this solution to the community.
