Is anybody having conversations about social distancing seating for next season? Maybe kill every other pair of seats. Just curious if anybody has gone through that mental exercise.
My biggest concern with this really comes down to how to figure out how to do this retro-actively as we've already started selling subscriptions for next season (and continue to do so)...hopefully (crossing all my fingers) it won't come to this, but I can see it being a nightmare to figure out and notify patrons.
I agree with you here. My huge concern that much like Symphony, Ballet's subscription sales are based on seat locations. Seats that are specific. Even 1 seat over is not acceptable in some cases. If we cut out seats and/or rows due to social distancing, we will have to scatter our subscribers (a lot of them donors) across a 2500 seat house. It will be a nightmare to notify, but each patron has their own needs, we can't give them just any option. They have to pretty much sit where we tell them. I am afraid that we will lose patrons (and revenue) that way.
