Affordable access and editable pricing

Does anyone have experience with Tessitura's editable pricing (aka sliding-scale) functionality? My org is considering experimenting with allowing guests to pay-as-they-wish when purchasing a ticket online as part of our affordable access initiatives. We're hoping to learn from other Tessitura users that have implemented it or something similar?

Thanks in advance…

  • Hi Greg,
We only use editable pricing in the back end, and only for very specific situations and price types. Editable pricing would make reconciliation and auditing more difficult, because of the way we build taxes into our prices in Canada. However, do we offer "pay what you wish" options for some of our events. If it's a GA facility (for something like digital content), we build a PWYW price zone and rename each zone to amounts, so something like $10, $20, $30, etc. We've also used different price types. So although a customer can't actually input their own amount, we do try to provide several different options of prices.
